Ekbal Singh & Jagjit Kaur

We all come from different countries and we want to be supported ourselves so I think the 2017 Festival of Cultures is a good opportunity for everybody to be able to get together and enjoy multiculturalism. We have been in Australia for more than twenty years and in Bendigo for three and a half years. We were also in St Arnaud for three and a half years in the country and it was far less multicultural than Bendigo but we really enjoyed it. We made very good friends over there and they still visit us here.

We are from the northern part of India from the Punjab and I am from the capital city of New Delhi. We are very well adapted to the Bendigo community and well supported and we have no troubles at all. We love it here! Thanks to the Bendigo community!

We are going to have our food stalls at this year’s festival like we had last year. So this year we will be at Family Fun Day at Rosalind Park. Sunday is our day off from the restaurant so we can enjoy it as a day event and as a family as well. We were at last year’s Bollywood night with our food stall. It was fun and very nice and I had my mother here.

I think Bendigo is a good place to live and raise your kids in the country. I lived for sixteen years in Melbourne but in Bendigo we have everything we need. It is very compact and it’s good for kids and we are loving it. We have no thoughts about moving from here and we have brought our own place here as well.
